2012 West Hartford Art League Member's Juried Exhibition

All West Hartford Art League members are eligible to enter this show, which will be juried by Debra Goertz, from Brooklyn, NY, who is a professor of art at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Art and drawing teacher at Parsons New School of Design, in New York City.

Entry categories include painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics, collage and mixed media. the art must have been created within the last two years and not previously exhibited in a WHAL juried show.

Several awards will be given including the top prize of $300.

Entry forms are expected by Friday, Jan. 27th. Late entries incur a late fee but are still eligible. Works must be delivered Feb. 3/4.
(Optimistically I will have artwork accepted into this show.)

Connecticut Printmakers Invitational

I am pleased to announce that I was asked to curate this inaugural show to celebrate Connecticut printmakers. I have invited 12 accomplished printmakers who are skilled in a variety of printmaking techniques. Some are well known artists who exhibit frequently throughout New England, and some are lesser known because they pursue their passion for printmaking at their own pace.
Some of the artists will be giving talks about their work, there may be printmaking demonstrations and possibly a beginner class.

I promise this event will be both visually beautiful and educationally stimulating, and appropriate for all ages. I hope you will join us in this unique celebration.

West Hartford Art League CT+6 Juried Show

This is the big juried show of the year. Artists from all 5 New England states and New York are eligible to enter. The juror is Susan Cross, a curator at MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA, formerly with the Guggenheim Museum, NYC.

Accepted media includes painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, ceramics, collage and mixed media.

This is what they call a rrrreeeeaaaallllyyyy big show as there will be many, many entries vying for the awards, including the top prize of $1,000 and a solo show opportunity. The selections will be a real challenge for the juror.
